A hand crafted acrylic lamp

Process

I did the math to figure out what size each piece needed to be and how to maximize the size for my sheet of acrylic.

The first prototype

I hand cut nine equilateral triangles to make the final form, eight for the shape and one extra.

I used a jig to drill the holes in the same place for each triangle point.

I used a heat gun to have control in making the acrylic malleable.

I used scrap wood to create a form to help keep the bent acrylic at a consistent angle.
